I have recently started a course which is opening my eyes to the possibility that there is in the arts to awaken the our hearts to our desperate need for a deep strong intimate connection with our loving creator and father. It seems that Art has been hijacked for far too long, and it is only recently that Art is coming back into the church. Once again the church or at least the part of the church which I move in is starting to realise the awesome power behind pictures that don't speak. Paintings or Static Art cannot be argued with it needs not defend the position it is putting across to us. When two people are in a discussion one may put their guard up but so often we think that the visual is powerless and therefore we are vulnerable to what it shows us or what argument it is putting across. I have always been a great believer that Art is a very spiritual things and it is intrinsically linked to the spiritual or the supernatural of course this could have good affects or not so good ones depending on whether you are wanting to portray the awesomeness of God or the dark demonic side. Both are powerful, we can not pretend that what goes in through our eyes affects us dramatically. People who make films know this very well. For too long the wrong sources have been using the power of art to give messages which are not exactly uplifting are not beautiful and are more on the side of the demonic.
Now it is our chance to portray what God is really like in his power and greatness. We have the opportunity to give people in society prophetic messages. Also we can use Art to draw people into both a dialogue of who God is but more importantly his presence
